Jessica Lichty

Group Class Trainer

 

Jessica has a passion for teaching AND animals and is so excited to meld the two as WDU's American Kennel Club group classes trainer. She also enjoys assisting in classes. Jessica has over 10 years of teaching experience from preschool to special education and is currently a Special Education teacher in the Charleston area. She also previously worked extensively with the Humane Education department at Charleston Animal Society with her assistant (seen here), Enzo.

Sara Ross

Group Class Trainer 

 

Ever since Sara was five, in her kindergarten graduation, she said she wanted to be a veterinarian, She loved animals so much! As she went through school, a veterinary technician was a better fit for her and she now works with Charleston Harbor Veterinarians clinic. Sara has three Labradors, and the trifecta at that! All the colors; black, yellow and chocolate (River, Marsh & Buddy)! And we can’t forget about her chinchilla, Sailor!

Carson Seabrook

Training Assistant

 

Carson has worked with dogs in the animal care industry for 7 years. At WDU, she assists in group training classes. Starting at doggie daycares she quickly learned that working with dogs was her passion. When not with her sidekick, "Cleo," she  works on the Behavior Team at Charleston Animal Society helping provide enrichment, assessments, and doggie play time for shelter dogs.

"I love helping people understand how to better communicate with their dogs. Watching the trust and bond that grows through positive reinforcement training is always so special!”

Melissa Kandle

Training Assistant

 

Melissa grew up loving dogs, cats, and fish, and has been working professionally with animals for over two decades. Her first job after college was working at a science museum where she trained rats to play "basketball," along with presenting a variety of other science programs. She also worked at an aquarium, where she was able to provide care and enrichment for species ranging from birds to amphibians. She's excited to pair her love of animals and science to help dogs and their people have the most fulfilling relationships possible.

Courtney McDonald

Training Assistant

Courtney has had animals her entire life, ranging from small critters to large dogs. Her love of animals led her to work at a veterinary clinic during college. She has twenty years experience teaching children as young as five, all the way up to college students at the College of Charleston, and currently teaches middle school at a charter school in Charleston. She loves applying positive behavior techniques with her students as well as her own dogs.Ā 

"I love trainingĀ my fosters to get them ready for adoption and spending time withĀ my 3 boxers; Sasha, Laila, and Snoopy. Snoopy isĀ my first blind and deaf dog, and training him using touch commands has been very fulfilling for me."

Marielle Zych

Training Coordinator

 

Marielle grew up with dogs and has always been an animal lover. She loves working from home with her rescue cat, Harley, and rescue pup, Maggie.  Maggie is part of Marielle's "why," to make sure she doesn't give up on her new work-from-home career. Maggie is a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix and loves going on walks everyday.  Marielle lives in the Buffalo, NY area and loves handling all the behind the scenes action for the team at Wonder Dog University. She loves working for Wonder Dog University and helping dog people find the proper training to suit their dog's needs.
