It's Too Early To Start Training My Pup...Right?

Pups & dogs are learning every minute of every day! They are constantly taking in stimuli. They see, hear, smell, taste, and touch things throughout their lives that they form associations around, making lasting impressions.

As puppies go through a crucial socialization period between 3-12 weeks of age, it is imperative to start creating positive associations with an array of stimuli early on for a well-adjusted pup.

While a young puppy may not be ready for advanced training or long training sessions, they are still always learning! It is important to remember that when starting out with training a young pup is to set realistic expectations. They may only be able to handle short snippets of training sessions at first, or it may take them a little longer to catch on to something.

Using a long line makes for more enriching walks with your dog. They get the freedom to run around, smell things & do pup-stuff & you get the joy of witnessing their happiness in action! Here we demonstrate some basic skills & tools you can use when walking with a long line leash to avoid any stressors that may come up.

His human-groupies, Kelly and Joshua, are his biggest fans and have been working so diligently with Bowie on his Separation Anxiety. He has really come a long way! He just really doesn't like to be away from his fans.

I have found myself once again enveloped in Anthony Bourdain's adventures - namely, the Central American destinations. While I have seen these episodes many times before, having just recently returned from an extended trip myself, this time around I find myself paying closer attention to the dog culture in these Third World countries. My latest fav is the Roadrunner documentary film.
