REAL LIFE DOG TRAINING

TRAIN YOUR DOG TO BE WELL BEHAVED AND WELL TRAINED IN PUBLIC

Whether you have a fast growing pup, an adolescent wild child or a wise old sage, dog training is useful for real life with your dog.

Grab your American Kennel Club Urban Canine Good Citizen certification. Proudly show the world you're a great team or ready for therapy work. Did you know some insurance companies, HOAs and apartments even offer discounts for having this badge of honor?! Here are the topics we'll cover:

  • How to get your dog to focus on you with distractions.
  • How to teach your dog to build impulse control, settle and relax outside.
  • How to change problem behaviors for long lasting results.

Urban CGC Skills Taught and Tested:

  • Able to Calmly Tolerate and Respond to Distractions.
  • Polite Greetings - not jumping saying hello to people.
  • Wait - to enter and exit doorways or your car.
  • Loose Leash Walking - and why this is more useful than "heel."
  • 3 Minute Stay with Distractions - and the magical 3Ds of the process.
  • How to Confidently Encounter City Distractions:
    • Noises - horns, sirens, construction noise, etc.
    • Moving Objects  - skateboard, bike, carts, person running, etc.
    • Surfaces - concrete, grass, grates, plastic tarp, wet sidewalks.
    • Politely navigate Steps, Stairs or Elevators.

The #1 reason for puppy or dog surrender is the development of behavioral issues. Training saves lives.

With dogs sharing our lives more closely than ever, It's more important that each dog is given a real-life education. Many behavioral issues can easily be prevented by knowing how to train the behaviors you do want in the first place, making living with your dog easier.

I highly recommend Growl Class for all dog lovers. C.C. proficiently helps keep dogs comfortable with low tension, alleviating the anxiety and concern of the people on the other end of the leash. We were taught much about why our dogs react the way they do and were given practical tools for preventing and responding in an appropriate and calm manner.
